My fascination with Alice in Wonderland still lives on, I just simply love the illustrations; these are some of my ideas of what they can become. And, Yes Chinese women are pretty too, I found some vintage images of chinese pin up girls and they are simply lovely.

Thanks to all the people who bought them at the flea market! You guys keep me creating & making!

We have just successfully finished organising the event; Unidentified Lighting Object (U.L.O) 2009 and we handmade these DVD covers for the participating designers to take home. We created a monogram out of the invite and printed it on fabric at our humble home using a ink jet printer.

A customized DVD case we did for a wedding video by white.unit. The couple love it as much as we do.

A bundle of joy – Handmade guestbooks, Ang Bao boxes and bridesmaid wrist corsages. A purple floral galore.

Guestbooks and Ang Bao boxes

Guestbookwedding guestbookwedding guestbookwedding guestbook with a handsewn cotton sleeveThe project was to create a wedding guestbook based on the colour theme and a bible verse that the couple selected;

Psalm 84:3 ‘even a sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young, a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty…”

Fabrics with simple graphics were used together with a vintage picture of 2 swallows in their nest. A picture speaks a thousand words doesn’t it? The internal pages of the accordion guestbook are lemon yellow for a refreshing feel. The wedding guestbooks can be slotted into a handsewn cotton sleeve with a vintage image iron-on as a finishing touch. Sweet!

Experiencing a casual, outdoorsy wedding is one of my favourite. They had just that at Sentosa, Suburbia Restaurant which is a re-furbished old monorail station designed by one of our classmates.

The preparation was really fun, we designed and hand stamped the table place cards for everyone according to the the theme. Ting is another fan of the purple chrome family so we used lots of Hydrangeas, Eustoma and carnations with pink lotus for the focal floral pieces.

It was a romantic dinner situated in the midst of lush green, accompanied by jazz music and the occasional banter between the parrots in the ficus tree with the yellow island bus passing by. They had the privilege of a team of talented ladies who, mostly trained in architecture whipped up the restaurant deco in a mere 3 hours whom also doubled up as ‘sisters’ in the wee hours of the morning. Yes. Meeting datelines and multi-tasking are our forte. Above all, it was a lovely evening with wonderful company of friends, just like good old school days.

Shouts out! to Pang (white unit) who did the videography.

Nov 2008. Being a good friend of the bride, I volunteered myself to many services; bridesmaid, florist and part of her entourage. It was great fun except for the stress of not wanting to screw up my friend’s wedding. She offered me the opportunity of decorating my very first bridal car. Though it was very exciting, I kept having visions that the car bouquet would fly off with the wind. Fortunately it did not, thanks to the advice given to me by a kind acquaintance.

The bride has a fondness for purple. Thus, a variety of purple roses, filler flowers were used; the cabbage rose gives an edge and contrast to the lushness of the bouquet. I would never forget that the bride kept the bouquet in the freezer the night before the wedding – to my agast! It was partially submerged in a tub of ice brought out to thaw the next day. The bridesmaid bouquets did not quite make it but the bridal bouquet survived – barely!
